Mission of the State of Palestine in Dublin

On November 15th every year, Palestinians celebrate and remember the day that Independence was announced by Yasser Arafat.  The historic occasion was marked with the reading of a poem by Mahmoud Darwish, which stated

The Palestine Liberation Organization has held Israel fully responsible for what it described as the dangerous escalation in the besieged Gaza Strip, according to a statement by the Department of Public Diplomacy and Policy.
"Israel bears full responsibility for the grave escalation it instigated in the Gaza Strip and the wanton destruction and terror it has caused,” it said.

Renowned artist Banksy has created a new image as part of a campaign to increase Palestinian tourism.  It shows his trademark cherubs prying the wall apart. 

He publicised the trade fair on his Instagram with the following comment 
"Opening my first ever stall at a trade fair next week. I’ve painted a replica separation barrier to promote the Walled Off Hotel."

The Walled Off Hotel in Bethlehem is beautifully appointed, with rooms customised by  artists Banksy, Sami Musa and Dominique Petrin.  It is also uniquely placed against the separation wall, with the beauty of the rooms providing a juxtaposition against the harshness of the stark backdrop of a military installation.
